I pulled over to help her get in contact with emergency services. The police were the first on the scene. The officer interacting with her did not have a mask on, nor was there one visible on his person. Officers are purported to protect our citizens. This officer could have exposed this woman to covid, and more egregiously during a moment of disorientation for her. It was his responsibility to take precaution to ensure he added no additional threats to her life. This is most definitely not the first time I have seen officers without masks on when dealing with the public.” This notice of formal complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation in order to determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
