COMMUNITY POLICE REVIEW COMMISSION (CPRC) Regular Monthly Meeting December 7, 2020 6:00 p.m. CST Members of the public are welcome to join this meeting. To join, click this meeting link and it will open the Zoom meeting. If you don't already have Zoom installed on your device, you may want to join early to get set up. You will be asked to enter a passcode, which is 226434. PUBLIC COMMENT Public comment will be allowed via Zoom. All speakers must register 48 hours in advance (December 5th, 2020 by Noon). All public comment will occur at the end of the meeting. To speak remotely at the Community Police Review Commission, residents must: Email or call the CPRC at CPRC@austintexas.gov or (512) 974-9000. The information required is the speaker name, contact information, and the agenda item(s) they wish to speak on. The public meeting of the Community Police Review Commission will be held virtually on Zoom at 6:00pm. The following is the agenda: CALL TO ORDER 1. NEW BUSINESS a. Move January 4, 2021 meeting to the following week January 11, 2021 2. STAFF BRIEFINGS a. 2019 Joint Report: Analysis of APD Racial Profiling Data from Office of Police Oversight 3. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS a. Mental Health Recommendations to the Austin Police Department 4. PUBLIC COMMENT ONAGENDA ITEMS 1, 2, AND 3 5. PUBLIC COMMENT ON AUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT ADJOURNMENT Complainants/members of the community may address the Community Police Review Commission about the above items. If you wish to address the Community Police Review Commission, please sign up 48 hours in advance of the public session. The City of Austin is committed to compliance with the American Disabilities Act. Reasonable modifications and equal access to communications will be provided upon request. If requiring Sign Language Interpreters or alternative formats, please give notice at least 2 days before the meeting date. Learn about the Community Police Review Commission and how you can get involved in improving policing in Austin visit ATXpolicecommission.org COMMISSION MEMBERS Jessica Gonzales Bricker Elizabeth Castaneda Joao Paulo Connolly Tania Rosamond Erica Flores Amani Seay Richard Segovia Grayson Turner Sukyi McMahon Elizabeth Castaneda The Community Police Review Commission consists of 10 unpaid volunteers appointed by the city manager to: • Make policy-level recommendations regarding discipline, training, community relations, and the complaint process . • Address any other issues of concern by the community. • Review patterns and practices of the Austin Police Department. • Assess critical incidents and review individual cases of police misconduct. • Make fair and objective recommendations, and make decisions based only on the facts and evidence. • Assess the effectiveness of the Office of Police Oversight.
