Complaint: The Office of Police Oversight received an online complaint alleging the following:
“Very unprofessional, officer was rude when he knocked on our door. We called about a
homeless tent outside of our fence on private property. Officer arrived demanding my wife
walk him around the back of our fence to show him where the homeless person was
camping at. After my wife refused, he got upset and called a second unit to assist. After
telling the homeless man he needed to move his tent the two patrol car blocked the street
so no traffic could pass. They made it seem like my wife was wrong
for calling them.”
This notice of formal complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and
Municipal Civil Service Rules.
